Why I Created This Space

I’ve always felt a little different. I’m neurodivergent, queer, and just not built for loud, fast, overstimulating spaces. Too many sounds, too many people — it’s a lot.

So I created something softer. A little studio that feels quiet, cozy, and safe. A space where you don’t have to perform, where you can just show up and be.
The world asks a lot of us, which is exactly why this one doesn’t.

Rest, laugh, vent, sit in stillness — whatever you need, this space can hold it.
When I’m not doing hair, you’ll probably find me at a concert, wandering a vintage market, or cuddled up with my four cats and a good podcast. I’m big on live music, flea market treasures, theatre, and honestly? Anything silly and fun!

And behind the chair, I’m all about soft, blended color that grows out beautifully and keeps up with real life. It’s perfect for anyone who isn’t glued to a calendar — whether you’re living slow or living it up.

We keep things light in here. Music, memes, drama, whatever’s on your mind. No pressure. Just good vibes and even better hair.

I used to go by August Studio. I still love that name and honestly, I still consider my physical space to be called that.

But after a while, it started to feel like I was hiding behind a brand. I wanted something more personal. So now it’s just Emersyn Does Hair.

Same cozy little studio. Same chill vibes. Just feels a little more like me now!

When I think about good hair, I think about how it grows out.

My goal is always longevity — cuts and color that feel cute for months, not just the day you leave. I want your hair to grow out soft, blended, and easy, without needing a ton of upkeep to stay looking good.

I use a mix of things like highlights, balayage, and intentional cutting to create hair that fits your real life. Nothing too fussy, nothing too perfect. Just lived-in, low-stress hair that feels like you.

And listen, I love seeing you in my chair. But your hair should work with your life, not revolve around when your next appointment is.

My little salon is located within the Salon Lofts in Palm Harbor with a big sunny window and a vibe that can shift to whatever you’re needing that day.

One of my favorite things about my space is being able to control the lighting, music, and overall feel. Some days are soft and low-key. Other days are full of pop songs and laughter!
